Dr. Dale Parson

Dr. Dale Parson, Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, attended the opening of the Art of the State exhibit June 23, at the State Museum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where his four minute, 33 second video piece, “Flaming Beauty, debuted. Parson’s is the first video art piece to be exhibited at Art of the State, which shows only 110 of the 2,170 submitted works. This piece grew out of Parson’s creative coding courses that contribute to both CSIT and the Applied Digital Arts programs at Kutztown University. An online copy of the video is available for viewing at https://youtu.be/PLCAdeZFXSo. The Art of the State exhibit runs through Sept. 8.

If you have any publications (letters, emails, booklets, PDFs, fliers, etc.) that include links to the Kutztown University website, you will want to set time aside to check and update any of those links. While we are doing what we can to preserve links on the new site (for instance, all short URL Redirects, see below, setup through my office will remain active), some links will change as we streamline our site with this new version.

Congratulations to all involved in the successful launch of the new university website. This presidential initiative is more than two years in the making. It involved countless hours devoted by our internal web and IT teams, the assistance of our consultants at BarkleyREI, as well as the many campus contributors who were challenged to learn and use a new platform and collectively transition more than 3,000 pages of content. Together, we were able to make considerable progress with our ever-critical web presence.
Special thanks to the MARCOM and IT teams who were heavily involved with the project: Chris Angelico, Dan Carroll, Holly Fox, Julian Grabowski, Devin Hosie, Josh Leiboff, Rick Miller, Andy Mull and Kelly Smith.

While the launch was successful, we realize there will be some glitches. We ask that before our official announcement to the public, we come together as a collective team to put another set of eyes on its pages. Each department and office have content contributors who are able to update their parts of the website, please direct department level changes to them. If you are unsure of who to contact, or find something not related to a specific area, please fill out this form to report it: https://app.kutztown.edu/sz_004_bugherd/. Your assistance during this final sprint to the finish will ensure we are presenting a polished KU experience. Thanks again for making this such a tremendous team effort.
