Girma Zelleke

The Department of Business Administration announces the retirement of Dr. Girma Zelleke, who joined the Kutztown University faculty in 1986 as a professor of economics. Faculty member Victor Massad commented: "(Dr. Zelleke) has a tendency to see things in an entirely different way than anyone else in the department sees them, and often raises issues that never occur to the rest of us." Zelleke was especially passionate about teaching and discussing African economics, Ethiopia in particular and the Great Depression. After 34 years in the department his smile and dedication will be missed. Read more.

Kutztown University applauds the recent Supreme Court ruling for non-discrimination in the workplace for LGBTQ+ people. Civil/Human Rights for All is not just a goal or an ideal, it should be a guiding principle for our nation. We have more work to do, especially in the area of racial inequality, but let us take a moment to celebrate this historic ruling for equality. In addition, KU is pleased to announce the updated name of its own campus resource center to the LGBTQ+ Resource Center.
