The Department of Psychology announces the retirement of Dr. Emmanuel (Manos) Akillas. During his 28 years at Kutztown University, he was the advisor for the Psychology Club and served on the University Senate, graduate counsel and a number of other college and university committees. Akillas was instrumental in developing a track system for psychology majors and played a major role in expanding our internship program. During his retirement he plans to spend his free time writing and visiting Greece.

The inaugural Golden Bear Athletic Club Virtual 5K, benefiting Kutztown University athletics, successfully raised $5,765 and engaged more than 150 donors, June 12-14. With its annual 1866 Minute Giving Challenge postponed this spring due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Kutztown University Foundation (KUF) and KU athletic department teamed up to put on the GBAC Virtual 5K, providing participants with a chance to exhibit a healthy lifestyle choice and compete while supporting Golden Bear sports and student-athletes.
