High pressure to move to our southeast on Monday. This pressure system will become stationary and will provide for several beautiful days. Mostly sunny skies for Monday as temperatures begin their ascent. We could reach the low 70s as early as Tuesday! High temperature in the upper 50s. Winds southeast at 5-9 mph.  

 

THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

March 7, 1891:  Students are assigned to the new "Boy's Building" at the Keystone State Normal School and they eagerly move into their new rooms. Each room has two closets and two single beds. Prior to this, many shared one closet and one bed. The furniture is oak with walnut finish. This is the current A Wing of Old Main.

Golden Bear Food Court, first floor South Dining Hall, will be closed for renovation.
South Side Café, second floor South Dining Hall, will be open throughout the spring semester.

MCFARLAND STUDENT UNION
Monday, March 7 - Friday, March 11 - 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 12 & Sunday, March 13 - CLOSED
Resume normal building hours on Monday, March 14

STUDENT REC CENTER & POOL
The Student Recreation Center and Keystone Hall Swimming Pool will be operating under the following special hours during spring break:

Friday, March 4   6 a.m.-6 p.m. Pool 8 a.m.-9 a.m. & noon-1p.m.
Saturday, March 5 - Sunday, March 6 CLOSED Pool CLOSED
Monday, March 7 - Friday, March 11 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Pool 8 a.m.-9 a.m. & noon-1 p.m.
Saturday, March 12  CLOSED    Pool CLOSED
Sunday, March 13 (regular hours resume) 1 p.m.-11 p.m. Pool 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

*Last day of group exercise classes will be Thursday, March 3, and they will resume on Sunday, March 13.

PSECU
PSECU will be closed for Spring Break and will reopen Monday, March 14, at 10 a.m.  Please call 800-237-7328 for information or questions.
 

 

GOLDEN BEAR ATHLETICS

KU MEN'S BASKETBALL RECEIVES INVITE TO BIG DANCE
The Kutztown University men's basketball team had its ticket punched to the big dance on Sunday evening. KU earned an at-large bid and the fourth seed in the Atlantic Region during the NCAA Selection Show, and is heading to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history.
 
The Golden Bears (21-6) will face fifth-seeded West Chester (23-6) in the First Round of the Atlantic Region Tournament on Saturday, March 12 at Wheeling Jesuit University, the top-seed and one of eight regional hosts in the tournament.
 
Game time is still to be determined.
 
This is Kutztown's fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since earning back-to-back trips in 2009 and 2010. KU's first-ever national tournament came in 1998.
