President Hawkinson and officers from the Kutztown Optimist Club at Monday night's ceremony in recognition of the 2016 Fools' Run Scholarship recipients. The scholarships are awarded to select students from Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood, Hamburg and Kutztown high schools who attend Kutztown University. More than $9,000 in scholarships were awarded this year through profits from the annual 5k and 10-mile races. In its 26-year history, the race has generated more than $235,000 in scholarships for area students to attend KU.

TODAY'S WEATHER

(Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger)

Mainly cloudy skies return as a low pressure passes to our south. Rain showers affect the area at any time, best chances farther south, less chance farther north. Less windy than it's been but remaining chilly with highs only around 62. And check out the latest "Weather & Climate Chat" podcast with Monsoon Mike Regensburger and Dr. Michael Davis, this week discussing that insane weekend we just finished with everything from sun to rain to cold and snow (north of here), what's coming up the rest of this week, and our climate topic of the week discussing new regulations on methane. 4X800M RELAY TEAM WINS PSAC TITLE
Kutztown University's men's 4x800m relay team made history for the second straight year at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Last year, a school-record was set. Saturday, that record was broken again in a title-winning run at Mansfield University. The quartet of Naeb Mengisteab, Devonte King, Andrew Thompson and Jared Luckanitz turned in the best relay of their careers Saturday. They won the race by more than two seconds with a final time of 7:45.28, breaking last year's school-record that Mengisteab and Thompson were a part of in a second-place run.
