It's been a seemingly endless series of fronts, low pressures and disturbances affecting our weather the past week or so, and that pattern continues for at least another day. Expect mainly cloudy skies today. Any sunshine would be a bonus. Showers, drizzle and thunderstorms are possible at any time throughout the day. Remaining cool with highs around 70.

With great sadness the Provost's Office would like the university community to know that Preston Rowe, 17, nephew of Holly Fox (Information Technology) and Craig Beidler (University Police) passed away tragically in a car accident on Wednesday, May 24.  Preston, a junior at Oley Valley High School, was the brother of Payton, 16, also injured in the accident.  Condolences can be sent to the Foxes at 10 Vista Court, Fleetwood, Pa.  19522 and to the Beidlers c/o University Police, Old Main. Funeral Services for Preston will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Walbert Funeral Home, 14390 Kutztown Rd., Fleetwood. Annual fire alarm testing will be conducted in the university's education and general purpose buildings, during the next several weeks. This testing is performed to ensure the alarm and mass notification systems are functioning properly. While every effort has been made to schedule this testing around classes, events and other special activities during the daytime hours, test technicians will also be conducting testing during the evenings and some Saturdays due to unavoidable conflicts during the weekday. We appreciate your cooperation while we ensure our life safety systems are operating optimally.
