2022 Spring Commencement
More than 1,200 students will be awarded degrees during Kutztown University's spring commencement ceremonies May 13-14, at O'Pake Fieldhouse. Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson, university president, and Dr. Lorin Basden Arnold, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, will preside. Graduate students will receive their degrees at 5 p.m. Friday, May 13, including 13 doctoral candidates. Paul Walsh, an education major, will serve as the graduate student speaker and Dr. Catherine McGeehan, professor of education, will represent the faculty. Undergraduate students in the Colleges of Education and Liberal Arts and Sciences will graduate at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 14. Madison Brzozowski, a special education and secondary English education dual major, will represent the student body and Dr. Georgeos Sirrakos, professor of secondary education, will serve as the faculty speaker. Undergraduate students in the Colleges of Business and Visual and Performing Arts will graduate at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14. Kerolos Akraz, a business administration major, will serve as the student speaker and Dr. Peg Speirs, professor of Art Education, will serve as the faculty speaker. KU will present an honorary doctorate to Richard Wells at Saturday afternoon's ceremony.

Mary Eicholtz Retiring after 13 Years at KU
Congratulations to Dr. Mary Eicholtz, who is retiring after 13 years of service and teaching in the Department of Communication Studies. In addition to teaching, Dr. Eicholtz has served in a number of important leadership roles during her time at KU, including coordinating Gen Ed assessment and revision, interim associate dean of CVPA and department chair. We thank her for her many years of dedicated service to our students and the university. Please join us in wishing her a happy and fulfulling retirement as she takes a well-deserved break after many years of hard work.

College of Business
Annual Campus Turf Fertilizer and Weed Treatment
TruGreen will be on campus Wednesday, May 18 to perform our annual spring fertilizer and weed control application. Please stay off treated areas until they are dry. This usually occurs within 30 minutes after the application is completed, but can vary depending on weather conditions. They will begin early morning on the south side of campus and finish on the north side of campus by early afternoon. Thank you for your patience.

Lot B5 Closure-Tree Work Behind Ed House
On Tuesday, May 17, Lot B5, directly behind the Schock Education House, will be closed. Please park in lots B1 and B2. A vendor will be servicing trees around the Schock Education House and the Human Resources buildings. This work should be completed in one day. Emergency Water Repair
Schaeffer Auditorium – Domestic Water Shut Down Notice. There will be no water 7:30 a.m. to noon, Monday, May 16, Schaeffer Auditorium, in order to repair a water main leak. Water will be restored once the repairs have been completed. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you.
