Kutztown University Men’s Rugby cheering as they celebrate their First National Championship

KU Men’s Rugby Wins First National Championship

Tournament Most Valuable Player Mate Kvirikashvili registered his second game-winning try of the day with less than two minutes remaining as the Kutztown University men's rugby team capped off a dream spring sevens season in New Orleans Monday.  With the Golden Bears' 17-12 victory over Dartmouth in the Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC) Men's Premier National Cup Final, they claimed the first national championship in program history. The university invites the campus community to celebrate the championship and welcome the Golden Bears back to campus Tuesday afternoon. Please monitor your email Tuesday for the team’s expected arrival time and location.

The Golden Bear women went 3-3 over the weekend and bounced back from an early defeat Sunday morning to finish sixth overall in the Women's DI Club Bracket at the national Collegiate Rugby Championships in New Orleans. Read the full recap online.

Employee Recognition Picnic

As the rush of the end of semester and the excitement of graduation begin to fade, we turn our attention to another annual tradition: the employee recognition luncheon. This year, President Hawkinson is pleased to welcome the campus community 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 15 to O’Pake Fieldhouse, as we gather to honor all those employees who reached a service milestone and/or have retired since June 2019. Final Call for Registration: 2022 CET Summer Teaching Conference (Virtual)

The CET is pleased to announce the 2022 CET Summer Teaching Conference 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, June 1. It will be held virtually on Zoom. This year's conference, with the theme of OER/Open Pedagogies, features a keynote by Dr. Torrey Trust and professor Robert W. Maloy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. There will also be a panel discussion with KU faculty members sharing their experiences with OER/Open Pedagogies. More information about the keynote can be found here.
