TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
Nov. 20
Today, Wednesday, Nov. 20, there will be a visual display 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of Old Main, and a brief student performance and speech at 12:50 and 2 p.m., to honor the 21 transgender individuals whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence in 2019. Two students will be performing a song, “Village,” and one additional student, will be speaking about her experience. "ICE WORLDS" PLANETARIUM SHOW TONIGHT

Join us tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. for "Ice Worlds," a planetarium show that explores the delicate balance between ice, water, and the existence of life on Earth, and how ice shapes the landscape and the natural systems on other planets and moons in our solar system. The Marlin and Regina Miller Gallery presents an exhibition of Rodrigo Valenzuela’s video and photo-based works. Born in Cuba, Valenzuela currently teaches photography at UCLA. This exhibition is free and open to the public. “JORNADA” will run Nov. 21 – Feb. 9.

KU TO HOST ANNUAL ART EDUCATION CONFERENCE FRIDAY

Artists, art educators and art students come together for a day of collaborative learning and workshopping beginning at 7:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22, in the Nancy Jean Stump ’54, Multipurpose Room of McFarland Student Union for KU's 81st annual Art Education Conference. The conference focuses on the connections between how the conception and production of art influences and reflects the conception and production of curriculum.

CLUBS ACEI AND KUET HOLD DONATION DRIVE
KU Equestrian Team (KUET) and Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) are collecting donations for animal and women’s shelters. Needs: shampoo, deodorant, brushes, soap, clothing (new/gently used), toys, backpacks, cleaning supplies, baby wipes and razors. Animals: collars/leashes (no metal), pee pads, brushes, treats (no rawhide), food, paper towels, used towels/blankets/sheets, saddles, horse items, carriers, bowls and detergent. Items can be brought to 210 Beekey Education Building, Dixon Hall and Beck Hall. We can pick up. Donation drive ends Saturday, Nov. 30.

FRIEND INC FOOD BOX DRIVE
Thank you to the offices and departments who contributed to the Thanksgiving Box Friend Inc. Food Drive. We received over 50 boxes that were donated to help feed the more than 250 families that are served by Friend Inc.
