KU Custodial Appreciation Day

KU Custodial Appreciation Day is 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, Sharadin Lobby and 11 p.m. to midnight Old Main Concourse. Everyone is welcome to come and support our hard-working custodians who keep our workplaces clean. Enjoy coffee, cake and take a moment to thank your custodian. A clean workplace makes everyone more productive and efficient. Come out and join the celebration.

KU Orchestra Concert

The KU Orchestra will be having their first performance of the semester tonight, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11, Schaeffer Auditorium. This performance will feature music by Dukas, Fauré, Grieg and Camille Saint-Saëns' "Le Carnival Des Animaux". Please consider attending this wonderful evening of music.

Lunch and Learn: The State of U.S. Democracy

The EMSA Professional Development Committee is proud to launch a series of Lunch and Learn workshops open to all faculty and staff. The first will be hosted by Nykolai Blichar, assistant director of Student Involvement and Community Outreach, titled “The State of U.S. Democracy.” The United States has stood for 246 years as the pinnacle example of democracy in the world. In the last decade however various factors have impacted the strength of our democratic systems. This Lunch and Learn will explore the factors that have led us to where we are now and what we as citizens can do to maintain the democratic-principles we hold. The CET is pleased to offer the third CET fall presentation "Scholarly Research Opportunities for All Through CUREs" by Dr. Lance F. Barton, chair and professor of biology at Austin College. This is a joint session with UGRC. This UGRC-CET presentation can be accessed 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, through Zoom here.
