1866 Minute Giving Challenge logo

1866 Minute Giving Challenge: Oct. 18-19

Imagine supporting team travel to an out-of-state tournament. Or wouldn't it be amazing if an entire group of students could attend a professional conference – the first of their career? What if you could ensure that over 25 students in financial crisis had the resources they need to cover food and housing expenses? For 1,866 minutes, the KU community unites as one to support all. Because Together, We're Golden. In addition, Kutztown University Radio (KUR) will air a live, overnight broadcast for the full duration of the challenge – 1,866 minutes – including more than six students and staff. Listen via the TuneIn app or by tuning into the 1670 AM frequency on campus. For 1,866 minutes each year, we solely focus on gaining support for KU organizations, projects, programs and athletics through an online giving platform, by phone, by check/cash donations received in-person and by mail. Participate at https://www.kuf.org/1866.

Weather

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger

Today will almost feel like an early start to winter, with temperatures well below average for this time of year at only around 51. Much of the day will be spent in the 40s under cold high pressure. At least it’ll look nice with fair skies.

Announcements

Correction of Graduate Student Enrollment

While our undergraduate numbers that were shared with the university community were correct (7.3% increase in new freshman), we erred in reporting our new graduate student headcount. We had inadvertently included new non-degree-seeking graduate and new summer 2022 graduate students in the fall 2022 new graduate student headcount comparison. The corrected headcount for fall 2022 new degree-seeking graduates is 234. Using the same comparison from fall 2021, we enrolled 207 new degree-seeking graduate students for a 13% increase. We regret the error but are delighted with our higher numbers.
