KU Steel Drum Band

KU Steel Drum Band

The KU Steel Drum Band performed at the Olivet Boys and Girls Club Clinton Site, Reading, for their Hispanic Heritage Day Celebration on Sept. 30. This performance was the kick-off to a new program where select music education majors from the steel band will travel to Olivet each week to instruct a beginner steel drum band. At the end of the semester, this youth steel band from Olivet will travel to the new Center for Mallet Percussion Research to perform side-by-side with the KU Steel Band.
