Keith Haring Fitness Court

Attend the Dedication of the Keith Haring Fitness Court Friday, Oct. 21

Join the university and Kutztown community for the dedication and ribbon cutting of the Keith Haring Fitness Court, 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, next to the Kemp building, on the corner of Baldy Street and Normal Avenue, on the KU campus. The event is open to the campus community; wear your KU sprit wear; light refreshments will be available. The Keith Haring Fitness Court is a world-class, one-of-a-kind facility to help promote health and wellness in the Kutztown community. The Keith Haring Fitness Collection is a limited edition, outdoor, public art collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation in New York and Outdoor Fitness Court and the National Fitness Campaign. The fitness court will feature a 32'x35' outdoor bodyweight circuit training system with 30 pieces of body-weight fitness elements, including seven full-body circuit training stations and a body-weight training wall.

The 1866 Minute Giving Challenge is underway and focuses on supporting all things KU 7 until 2:06 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. This is your golden opportunity to be a part of the impact by making a gift to what you love at KU. With a record-breaking 60 plus groups participating this year, there are plenty of KU organizations, projects, programs, clubs and athletic teams to support. 2023 PEBTF Open Enrollment

PEBTF covered employees (i.e., AFSCME and SCUPA): The Open Enrollment period opened Oct. 17 and closes Friday, Nov. 4. This is your opportunity to make changes to your coverage or your covered dependents, as determined by the plan. If you wish to make changes, please go to Benefits Enrollment, on Employee Self-Service. If you do not wish to make any changes, you do not have to do anything.

2023 Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment

The 2023 FSA Open Enrollment Period, for both health care and dependent care accounts, began Oct. 17 and runs through Friday, Nov. 4. FSA elections should be made through Employee Self-Service (ESS). Employees should elect coverage in annual amounts which is divided by your pay frequency. This is the only time you can elect to enroll in a FSA for the 2023 year, except in limited circumstances.

The Department of Social Work invites you to the 2022 Social Work in Global Environment Virtual Conference 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 titled “Conflict, War and Peace.” We welcome students, staff, faculty and community members interested in the local-global impacts of conflict, war and peace and specifically, the roles of social workers and helping professionals. Please encourage students majoring in social work, women's and gender studies, psychology, philosophy, sociology, criminal justice, anthropology, education, communication studies and professional studies to attend this free event.
