THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

September 7, 1917:  Stakeholders of Keystone State Normal School approve the dissolution of the corporation that operated the school and the sale of all assets to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  A new nine-member board of trustees was formed and the state assumed $242,000 in debt held by KSNS.

Are you a singer? Song writer? How about a poet? Are you a comedian? Whatever your trade is, we would love to see it. Come out to our Open Mic Night on Wednesday, September 7 to wow the crowd and show off your skills. You'll be joined with many other talented KU students. It's all for fun and there may be some prizes as well. So come out to 183 MSU at 7 p.m. for some great fun! Sponsored by: Association of Campus Events.

The schedule for the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) meetings and deadlines for the 2016-2017 Academic Year is now available on the UCC website and SharePoint. The first meeting for this year will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. in 312 McFarland Student Union building.  The deadline for submission of all proposals for this meeting is noon Thursday, Sept. 8.  Please submit new proposals prior to this deadline by uploading them to the UCC SharePoint in the Drop-off Library, here.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. French at ext. 3-1312.

The Kutztown University women's soccer team has moved its game on Wednesday, Sept. 7 to North Campus Field. Game time vs. Lock Haven University is scheduled for 3 p.m.
