CIRUCCI NAMED RECIPIENT OF 2019 JOHN P. SCHELLENBERG AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

JC PENNEY SUIT-UP EVENT
Sept. 15
The Career Development Center would like to invite all faculty and staff to take part in the JC Penney Suit-Up event, 6:30-9:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept.15, at the Lehigh Valley Mall. There will be up to 60% off selected men’s and women’s career dress apparel, shoes and accessories. Please remind students to take advantage of this event.

Nominate a Spirit Award recipient by emailing the following information to veterans@kutztown.edu no later than Friday, Oct. 4.
- Eligible alumni’s full name.
- Graduation year (if known).
- U.S. military branch of service.
- A statement explaining why you believe the alumni deserves to be recognized (include their community service).
Eligibility: A KU alumnus who serves or served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces and continues to serve the military or veteran community by demonstrating a spirit of service that goes above and beyond normal duties. The award will be presented during the Nov. 9 military appreciation football game.

HOT WATER SHUTDOWN NOTICE - OLD MAIN
Sept. 14
The hot water in Old Main (C, D, E, F and I Wings), will be shutdown at approximately 7 a.m., Saturday, Sept.14, for an emergency repair for a leak in the hot water main. Cold water will remain on for washing hands and flushing toilets. The hot water will be restored once the repairs have been completed. Hot water will be available in Old Main (A and B Wings). Sorry for any inconvenience.

GOOD NEWS; FIRST-GEN T-SHIRT SALES EXTENDED
Sept. 17 – deadline
The First-Gen Celebration T-shirt sales have been extended. Pre-order a special T-shirt for $20 by Tuesday, Sept. 17, to wear to the First-Gen Celebration event Tuesday, Oct. 1. The TRIO SSSP student-designed shirt embodies the first-generation experience of breaking generational barriers. Proceeds benefit the TRIO SSSP scholarship fund. JOSHUA WESNER MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Sept. 22
Registration is now available for the annual Joshua Wesner Memorial Golf Tournament held Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Willow Hollow Golf Course in Leesport, Pa. Proceeds benefit the Kutztown University field hockey and track and field programs. The tournament starts at 8:30 a.m. and costs $85 per person. The entry fee includes cart and greens fees, a gift, lunch buffet, beverages and prizes. The tournament is named after the son of former KU field hockey coach Betty Wesner. Joshua in 2000, at the age of 23, after a battle with Hodgkin lymphoma. For more information visit kubears.com.

BUS TRIP TO MOMATH MUSEUM, NEW YORK

The Department of Mathematics is organizing a bus trip to the MoMath Museum in New York,
Saturday, Sept. 28. The bus will leave Kutztown University campus at approximately 8 a.m. and return around 5 p.m. If you are interested in this bus trip, please register using the link https://commerce.cashnet.com/fieldtrips. The cost is $25 for the bus only and $30 for bus and museum ticket. This field trip is partially funded by the math department and KU Foundation.

CAMPUSWIDE LOST AND FOUND
The McFarland Student Union information desk is now the home of the Kutztown University campus lost and found. In order to expedite the process of recovering lost items, we will be utilizing a 24/7 web-based inventory and claim system. Faculty, staff, and students can search through the lost and found items and claim an item online; click here. Items will only be held until the last day of each semester. Please claim any lost items by Friday, Dec. 13.

HANDSHAKE, NEW CAREER PLATFORM
The Career Development Center is utilizing a new career platform, Handshake, which has replaced KUCN. On-campus jobs are posted for students on Handshake. Please remind students to activate their account in Handshake by visiting www.kutztown.edu/handshake and logging in with their KU single sign-on. They do not need to create a new account. They only login and activate the existing account that was created for them. They should also answer the questions that follow the login, as they will be utilized to set up the student’s profile.
