KU CLIMBS IN U.S. NEWS AND WORLD REPORT RANKINGS
Kutztown University has been named a "Best Regional University" for 2022 in the U.S. News and World Report's annual ranking of U.S. colleges and universities. U.S. News lists KU as No. 123 in the first tier of the Best Regional Universities for the northern region, two spots higher than last year. KU has been ranked in the first tier since 2011. Additionally, KU ranks No. 43 among Top Public Schools for Regional Universities in the North. KU was one of eight institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education that were ranked in the first tier as regional universities.

NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Hispanic Heritage Month is a national month-long celebration – Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 – to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success. Kutztown University celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with month-long events and displays. FACILITIES FRONT OFFICE OPERATING HOURS
Due to staffing vacancies, the Facilities front office, including the Work Control Center and the key and lock office, will be operating under adjusted hours. The offices will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will be closed noon to 1 p.m. Facilities-related emergency requests outside operating hours should be reported to Public Safety. BUSINESS IDEA COMPETITION FOR KU STUDENTS
Kutztown University Entrepreneurial Leadership Center is hosting a Business Idea Competition for all KU students. This is a great opportunity for students to gain experiential learning and win a cash prize. Students are to attend one of the competition information sessions: 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 20, or 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, 116 McFarland Student Union. ROHRBACH LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE
Rohrbach Library’s annual open house is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21. Please encourage your students to take part in the library open house. Students will go on a
scavenger hunt that will take them on a journey through our resources, services and more. Those who successfully complete the scavenger hunt form will be entered into a prize drawing. The Kutztown University Activities Board in collaboration with campus and community partners is hosting the first event Alive! Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Fair, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23. Students will be connected to amazing resources throughout the fair that raise awareness about mental health. FUNCTIONAL POTTERY THREE-WEEK WORKSHOP
Functional Pottery workshop will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m., Sept. 27, Oct. 4 and 18. Pinched pottery is a lot of things, but "boring" isn't one of them. In this three-week class, you will learn about the possibilities of pinching clay into functional pieces for your home. Kutztown’s Artist in Residence Lexie Koch will teach you how to build forms that can hold flowers, and you can also make a variety of other objects using these techniques.
