Vlaun Named 2022 Employee of the Year

Congratulations to Veronique Vlaun, clerical assistant, Honors Program, on being named the 2022 Kutztown University Employee of the Year. Vlaun was named the Employee of the Year during KU's Faculty and Staff Convocation and Celebration held Friday, Aug. 26. Vlaun, Employee of the Month for November 2021, was 1-of-12 finalists for the annual award.

September Blood Drive

The Kutztown University Community Outreach Center continues to team up with Miller Keystone to recruit faculty, staff, students and community members to donate blood via our monthly drive, Wednesday, Sept. 14 in the Nancy Jean Stump Seiger '54 Multipurpose room. Donation of blood is critical during this time and we are always looking for donors. The blood drives are by appointment only. Please register using the link below.

Corrected UPC/UTC Information Sessions Date

If you are planning to apply for promotion this year, please note that you need to notify your department chair in writing by Thursday, Sept. 15 with a copy to the dean and provost. We are also asking that you notify the UPC (and UTC, if appropriate) with the name of your DPC chair by Oct. 1. You can email that information to Josh Miller and/or Duane Crider. This semester the UPC will offer three virtual informational sessions to discuss promotion-related issues and address any concerns. The procedures and required documents for tenure and promotion have changed from previous years, so we strongly encourage any promotion candidate to attend this meeting, as well as department chairs and DPC chairs. The members of the University Tenure Committee will also be available. The meetings will be held on Zoom at https://kutztown.zoom.us/j/91819258827 on the following dates:
- 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22
- 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2022 HALL OF FAME CEREMONY

Registration is open for the 2022 Kutztown University Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony Friday, Nov. 4. The 2022 induction ceremony will be held at the Nancy Jean Stump Seiger '54 Multipurpose Room of the McFarland Student Union Building, with a reception at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and the induction ceremony at 7 p.m. The newest inductees, KU's 43rd Hall of Fame class, include Howie Cuff '95 (cross country/track & field), posthumously; Al Fitch '04 (baseball); Kim Kelty '08 (soccer); Jordan Morgan '16 (football); Erin (Reynolds) Bastida '14 (field hockey) and Adriane (Willmer) Power '07 (softball).
