Kutztown University Small Business Development Center Hires Isamac Torres-Figueroa to Help Small-Business Owners in Reading
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (KUSBDC) announces the new placement of Isamac Torres-Figueroa. Her new position includes consulting Latino small business owners as well as tracking important data such as existing business demographics, size of business and information related to the workforce and number of city residents employed by these businesses.
"We are excited to have Isamac move into a new role here at the KUSBDC," said Sonya Smith, associate state director of Programs & Policy for the PA Small Business Development Centers. "She has been involved directly and indirectly with the program for years and saw the benefit of matching entrepreneurs with business resources. With Isamac back in the field, the focus of her new role is to give additional support to Latino business owners in the City of Reading. She will also work directly with all types of business owners in our five-county region (Berks, Chester, Dauphin, Lancaster and Lebanon). She sits on several small business-related committees, boards and councils where she can help voice the needs and build more connections for entrepreneurs and small business owners in the region."
"We are delighted to have Isamac to join us in her new role at the KUSBDC," said KUSBDC assistant center director Kecia Sturdivant. "Isamac is a staple in the Reading community. She brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and commitment to the SBDC, our clients and partners."
With more than 12 years of political experience, Torres-Figueroa has worked directly for the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs (G.A.C.L.A.). Her knowledge and experience will be pivotal to helping the KUSBDC further extend its outreach and better serve its clients.
Torres-Figueroa's goal is to increase the City of Reading small business owners' awareness of KUSBDC services and resources. The KUSBDC looks forward to seeing all the ways she can help the organization succeed.
