KU Veteran Services to Host Entrepreneurship Workshop

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Kutztown University Office of Veteran Services will host "Boots to Entrepreneurship" Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 6 - 8 p.m. in room 100 of the deFrancesco Building. The program will assist veterans and their families with starting a business. Topics will include choosing the right type of business, utilizing free business planning resources and financing programs available for veterans.

Mr. William Carmody, U.S. Army veteran and CEO of First Generation, Inc., will serve as keynote speaker. Upon completion of his military career, Carmody worked in the television departments for both Air Products and Health East. In 1987 he started First Generation, a multi-faceted full-service integrated marketing firm headquartered in Allentown, Pa., with offices in Washington, D.C., and Vincenza, Italy. Along with his growing list of corporate clients including Crayola and Mack Trucks, he has created programming for The History Channel and A&E Networks.

"Boots to Entrepreneurship" is sponsored by the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center, the Small Business Administration, SCORE, the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce and FranNet Franchise Experts, the Berks County Department of Veterans Affairs, Wells Fargo SBA Lending and the Pennsylvania Community Development and Finance Corporation.
