Lunar New Year Celebration at Kutztown University

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Chinese Students and Scholarly Association (CSSA) of Kutztown University will celebrate the Lunar New Year on Monday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room (218) of the McFarland Student Union.  The evening will begin with a demonstration by the Chinese Acrobats from Beijing at 6 p.m.  It will be followed by traditional Asian food, music and art including paper cutting, and calligraphy.  Admission is free.

The Lunar New Year occurs each year on the new moon between Jan. 21 and Feb. 20.  It is considered the most festive holiday in the Chinese culture.  2016 is the year of the monkey.

This event is sponsored by the CSSA, Association of Campus Events, KU Multicultural Center and MSU advisory board.
