Visiting Artist Cristin Millett

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Installation and sculptural artist Cristin Millett will give a public lecture on her work dealing with the female body in relation to medical history at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 in Sharadin Arts Building room 120.

Millett's work gives insight into societal attitudes about the female reproductive system and questions taboos surrounding sexuality. At the age of 16, she began her professional studies at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, a residential performing and visual arts high school and university. She received her bachelor's degree in fine art from Kent State University and her master's in fine art from Arizona State University.

Millett exhibits her work broadly in group and solo exhibitions across the United States. Her work has been favorably reviewed in Sculpture Magazine, Art Papers, and the Chicago Tribune. Since 2001, she has taught sculpture, foundry, and installation art at Penn State University.
