Panel Discussion: Is Black History Month Still Relevant

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University will host a panel discussion, Is Black History Month Still Relevant, on Monday, Feb. 20, at 4 p.m. in room 101 of the Academic Forum.  On the panel will be Dr. Arthur Garrison, Chanelle Williams and Maya Wilson.  The event is free and open to the public. 

Garrison, an associate professor of criminal justice at KU, has more than 15 years of criminal justice academic and practical experience. He was detailed from the Delaware Criminal Justice Council (CJC) to serve as the project director for the initial Wilmington Hope Commission in 2005-2006 which developed the "Wilmington Plan" to reduce crime and violence in the City of Wilmington, Del.

Williams, Elkins, Park, Pa., is a graduate student and graduate assistant in the KU Frederick Douglass Institute.  Wilson, Upper Darby, Pa., is president of the KU Black Student Union.
