President Hawkinson Presents KU Action Plan to State System

July 9, 2015

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Kutztown University president Kenneth S. Hawkinson, Ph.D., presented the institution's 2015 Action Plan at the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors meeting Wednesday afternoon in Harrisburg.

Each of the 14 universities in the State System presented their Action Plans, which outline the institutions' Programs of Distinction and key initiatives.  Dr. Hawkinson was joined for his presentation by Dr. Anne Zayaitz, KU's acting provost and vice president for academic and student affairs, and Jerry Silberman, vice president for administration and finance.

"The Action Plan provides a snapshot of some of the unique strengths of our institution and lays out our strategies for the immediate future," Hawkinson said.  "It will serve as a template for the procedure in which we will engage as a university community to craft next year's action plan."

Hawkinson will expand on his plans Friday, August 21, when he addresses KU faculty, staff and emeriti at the university's Opening Day Celebration.  At that event, slated for 9 a.m. at Schaeffer Auditorium, he will lay out his plans for the first 150 days of his administration as KU's 12th president.   The event will also serve as the kickoff to the university's Sesquicentennial Celebration, which will run through Founder's Day on September 16, 2016.
