Egg Hunts and Family Fun Headline Easter on the Farm

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center will hold their annual Easter on the Farm on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the center's farm on Luckenbill Road on the campus of Kutztown University.  Visitors will be witness to many historic activities including blacksmithing, log hewing, pottery and hearth cooking. Egg hunts will be held for children ages 6 mos. to 10 yrs. at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  The event will offer wagon rides, a petting zoo and hands-on crafts.

Keith Brintzenhoff takes the stage in the schoolhouse at 12p.m. and at 3 p.m. with "Songs and Stories for Kids of All Ages," and Mike Hertzog and The Blue Mountain Trio will perform traditional bluegrass and folk music at 1 p.m. Other exciting activities in the schoolhouse include a reading of "The Easter Bunny Brothers" and "Pearl of Richmond School" by Dori Hoch, and a Reading of "Penny Olive" by Rachel Yoder.

Inside the vendor tent will be a display of traditional Lenape storytelling, history and artifacts by Tales from Spirit Wind; as well as a Make Your Own Music activity.

The buildings and grounds of the Heritage Center will be bustling with activity from vendors and crafters. From Moravian stars and paintings to crocheted and whittled items - our craftspeople are bound to have that perfect Easter gift.  Food and refreshments will be available at the Old Time Plow Boys kitchen.
