KU to Host Entrepreneurship Week March 22 - 25

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University will celebrate Entrepreneurship Week March 22 - 25 with presentations, panels and workshops focused on building a business. All of the events are free and open to the public.

Events include:

Entrepreneurial Student Marketplace
March 22, 10 - 11 a.m., Georgian Room, Old Main

Journey from Idea to Success, Jay Sidhu, chief executive officer, Customers Bank
March 22, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Georgian Room, Old Main

Entrepreneurship Recognition Luncheon
March 22, 12 - 2 p.m., Georgian Room, Old Main
The luncheon includes a panel discussion facilitated by Stephen Hilborn with student panelists Olivia Knowles from Brainbug, Francois Bessing from SocoPop Records and Devin Peterson from BitMoto. Also in attendance will be an alumni entrepreneur panel, featuring, Bala Peterson and Jonathan Moyer from Cast and Crew Digital. 

MBA Information Session
March 23, 6 - 7 p.m., McFarland Student Union, room 324
Dr. Martha Geaney, dean, KU College of Business, will present information on the MBA program at Kutztown University.

Social Media and Ecommerce Workshop
March 23, 6 - 8 p.m., McFarland Student Union, room 223
Facilitated by Caitlyn Persing and Peter Hornberger, attendees will learn about social media and ecommerce. A Question and Answer session will follow.

Social Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion
March 24, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., deFrancesco Building, room 100
Facilitated by CJ Rhoads, the panel includes; Stan Pokras, instigator of Community Magic, and Jamie Gauthier, executive director of Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia.

First Steps to Starting a Business Panel
March 24, 3 - 5 p.m., McFarland Student Union Building, room 250
Facilitated by Ernie Post, executive director, Kutztown Small Business Development Center, the panelists include Greg Knies, agent, Knies Insurance Group; Matthew Mayer, Esquire, Leisawitz Heller; Craig Peiffer, zoning administrator,
City of Reading; Mark Rentschler, finance specialist/technology and strategic planning specialist, Kutztown Small Business Development Center; Colin Waszkiewicz, principal, The W Group Financial Services; and Kim Stoudt, economic development and lender relations specialist.

SocoPop Records' Live Lounge
March 24, 5 - 7 p.m., Bears Den, McFarland Student Union Building
Hosted by Francois Bessing, an array of musicians will perform solo and group acts.
