November 15, 2016

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Kutztown University Choir and Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Henry Alviani, will perform in concert Saturday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 357 W. Main Street, Kutztown, Pa. The event is free and open to the public.

The program includes John Rutter's Gloria, Z. Randall Stroope's Hodie! (This Day), both with full brass, percussion, and organ accompaniment, and Dr. Alviani's Three Psalm Settings for chorus and organ. University Choir is a large traditional concert choral ensemble. The group performs music of all eras, from ancient to contemporary, both a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment, including major works for chorus and full symphony orchestra. Chamber Singers is a smaller traditional "madrigal" style group. Its repertoire focuses mainly on a cappella music of all eras, but particularly Renaissance and early Baroque classical small ensemble music.
