Textile Professor to Offer Lecture at Cleveland Museum

October 14, 2015

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University Professor Michael Radyk, will give a lecture to the Cleveland Museum and the Textile Art Alliance on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. Radyk was given this opportunity after being awarded the President's Prize at an exhibition that the Textile Art Alliance sponsored at the Eire Museum called FOCUS: Fiber.

Radyk is assistant professor of textiles and the head of the crafts area at KU. He is an artist who designs woven textiles that have been featured at a national and international level. Radyk has been working on bringing some of his concepts together for the past five years to influence his new series "Corduroys, Jacquards, and Featherworks". Once the textiles are removed from the loom they are cut and manipulated by the artist to bring a human touch to an industrial textile.
