Berks Women in Crisis to Hold Silent Witness Display

October 17, 2016

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Berks Women in Crisis is set to host their Silent Witness Display at KU in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The display will be presented in the concourse of Old Main from Monday, Oct. 24 to Friday, Oct. 28. This project is modeled after the National Silent Witness Initiative.

The display will feature life-sized red silhouettes. Each figure represents a Berks County woman, man, or child who was a victim of domestic violence homicide, with a gold shield at each figure to tell their story. This event is in association with the KU Women's Center. A donation box will be present to collect non-perishable items for Berks Women in Crisis.  There will be local and national information on domestic violence and how to find assistance.
