Official Release

Even among a highly-competitive job field, KU’s graduates stand out. KU Library Science programs expand career opportunities for its graduates, preparing them to transform their knowledge into creative possibilities. Beyond librarian placements, a Master in Library Science can prepare students for other careers such as media specialist, metadata specialist, technical services specialist, digital collections, genealogy research and curator.

“This program is so successful at delivering excellent librarians that it has a nearly 100 percent placement rate after graduation,” the OSR stated. “There are three semesters to apply for and the online curriculum is very flexible.”

Graduates are qualified to analyze, design and implement new research and learning systems including computers, databases, video, graphics, interactive multimedia and maker spaces. Librarians and other specialists guide decision-makers and knowledge-seekers from all walks of life in finding the data, resources and curriculum they need. The fully online degree option adapts to fit your schedule and your lifestyle regardless of your location.

OSR determines ranks based on six separate data points, three schoolwide and three program-specific, for every applicable school nationwide. Schoolwide data points include student satisfaction, admission rates and the number of programs the school offers online. Program-specific data points check the median debt of graduates from that program, how many degrees are offered within that program’s umbrella department and what percentage of students at that school graduated from that department.

OSR aims to provide students with simple, practical and accurate information about every online program available.
