September 26, 2016

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Alpha Beta Alpha at Kutztown University will hold a Banned Books Fair Sept. 28 - Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., in the KU Campus Store located in the McFarland Student Union.  The event is being held in conjunction with American Library Association's Banned Books Week.

The event is free and open to the public.  Attendees will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with their favorite banned book.

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community; librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types, in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

Alpha Beta Alpha is a national honorary library fraternity that is dedicated to serving college and university library science majors at the undergraduate level.
