KU Student Selected for National Student Advisory Committee

September 29, 2016

KUTZTOWN, Pa., Sept. 29 - Kutztown University student Nykolai Aleksandor Blichar has been selected to serve on the It's On Us Student Advisory Committee.  Blichar, a political science major from Palmerton, Pa., is one of 28 students serving on the committee.  Those selected are from colleges and universities across the country including Fordham University, the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, the University of Connecticut and Williams College.

The It's On Us 2016-2017 Student Advisory Committee is made up of a variety of students studying political science and government to mathematics, gender and sexuality studies, psychology and public health.  Selected members are all highly engaged in their school, through leadership roles in student governments, LGBTQ groups, Greek life and multicultural groups. Many have experience working around the issue of sexual assault, whether as volunteer crisis counselors, peer educators, or leading bystander intervention training.

Students serving on the committee are those that take the lead on their campuses and mobilize their peers to create cultural and systemic changes. The It's On Us Student Advisory Committee was created to further empower young people to step up and to be a part of the solution.

It's On Us was launched by President Obama in 2014 to create a cultural movement to fundamentally shift the way people think about sexual assault.  For more information visit itsonus.org.
