Kutztown University and Bucks County Community College Sign Transfer and Articulation Agreement

September 27, 2018

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University and Bucks County Community College (BCCC) signed two transfer and articulation agreements on Thursday, September 27, in the president's boardroom at Kutztown University.  One agreement will facilitate the transfer of any Bucks student to Kutztown, while the second agreement will facilitate the transfer of sport management program students at BCCC into the sport management degree program at KU.

Under the general transfer and articulation agreement, Bucks students who submit a letter of intent to enter Kutztown University before the completion of 30 transferable credit hours will be guaranteed admission into a bachelor's degree program.  The students will have third-year (junior) status at Kutztown University on the condition that they graduate from Bucks with an associate degree and satisfy all other Kutztown University transfer requirements, including any admission requirements for the major.

Full-time juniors admitted to KU from Bucks should be able to complete a bachelor's degree in a parallel program at Kutztown University within four regular semesters.  Access to particular programs for Bucks transfers will be the same as that provided to native Kutztown University students.

The sports management program-to-program transfer agreement facilitates the transfer of students who have completed the Bucks associate degree program in sport management into the sport management degree program at Kutztown University.  Students who complete the associate degree program at Bucks will be conditionally admitted into the bachelor's degree program at Kutztown University and assured third-year (junior) status.

The field of sport management is broad and offers projected employment growth opportunity. Salaries and employment opportunities are also amplified in certain regions of the country, including New York. As a result, Kutztown's proximity to New York and other industry-rich settings uniquely positions KU students with exceptional internship and job opportunities in this potentially lucrative field.

Bucks County Community College has locations in Tyler Park, Perkasie and Bristol serving more than 9,000 students each year.  It counts among its successful alumni the senior producer for the Philadelphia Phillies on NBC Sports Philadelphia as well as a host of CEOs and leaders in business and industry.

Comprising four colleges - Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences and Visual and Performing Arts - Kutztown University of Pennsylvania offers a wide range of outstanding academic programs to prepare individuals for successful careers.  Located on 289 acres, the campus is adjacent to the Borough of Kutztown in Berks County, Pennsylvania.  As of fall 2018, enrollment at the university includes 8,309 students from 32 states and 43 nations.
