The KU Miller Gallery is excited to announce that Ben Zamora (Seattle, WA) will be the Installation Artist in Residence for Fall 2026.  Zamora will be creating a LED light installation exhibition with the help of students and volunteers. Any and all classes are welcome to assist and meet the artist. 
Zamora’s work moves seamlessly between performance and visual art, where he creates light-based sculptures and art installations for performance-based work, including projects with Kronos Quartet, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Barbican, Deutsche Opera Berlin, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Park Avenue Armory in New York, The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and the Amsterdam Light Festival. 2027 Scholastic Art Awards

Deadline to submit: Friday December 18, midnight

Exhibition: February 13-March 7, Miller Gallery

Awards Ceremony: March 7, 2-3pm Schaeffer Auditorium

Kutztown University is now the home to the East Central Pennsylvania chapter of the Scholastic Art Awards for students in grades 7-12, the longest most prestigious art awards program in the country. 

The exhibition of student artwork is in the Miller Gallery, and the recognition ceremony is in Schaeffer Auditorium. All events are free and open to the public.

Any student or teacher in Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon Counties can apply and win awards at the regional level - top regional winners go on to compete at the National Level with winners exhibiting in NYC with a ceremony at Carnegie Hall. This program is free for Title 1 schools, otherwise there is a small fee for submissions.
