Training Opportunities

The DSO staff is happy to provide faculty with the opportunity to refresh their knowledge about the implementation of specific accommodations within the classroom environment, and to provide faculty with the opportunity to address any questions or concerns they may have regarding the implementation of approved academic accommodations within their classroom setting. Topics of our trainings include creating accessible PDF's and PowerPoints to meet visually impaired students' needs, working with Autistic and Neurodiverse students, running inclusive and accessible campus events, and much more! If you are interested in setting up a training session for you / your department, please contact our office.

With the upcoming university switch to the Banner system, student accommodations will also be sent via a new system, Accommodate, which we are in the process of implementing in order to have it functioning for the fall 2024 semester. Once Accommodate is ready for introduction, we will provide specific training opportunities throughout the summer and the start of the semester so you can learn where student accommodations will be found. We will send out more information regarding this change and how it will affect faculty as we approach the fall semester.
