The REDress Project Installation on Campus

KU's version of "The REDress Project" will appear around the DMZ fountain today, Thursday, May 2, and remain erected until Monday, May 6. Through the unannounced pop-up of striking red dresses on the DMZ, Residence Life partnered with the Multicultural Center to bring awareness to this art installation, originally created by Métis visual artist Jaime Black-Morsette, that responds to the missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW) epidemic in the U.S. and Canada. May 5 is the National Day of Awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people. Learn more about the staggering rates of violence online.
