Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to define the classification of students as freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors depending on credits completed.

This policy applies to all undergraduate students.

Students with 0 to 29.5 credits are classified as freshmen.
Students with 30 to 59.5 credits are classified as sophomores.
Students with 60 to 89.5 credits are classified as juniors.
Students with 90 or more credits are classified as seniors.
The credits used to determine the classification of students include those earned at Kutztown University plus those earned at other institutions accepted by Kutztown University on the basis of official transcripts received from those institutions.
