Tower Talks
Kutztown University's Tower Talks debuted in 2022.
A collaboration of the departments of Cinema, Television and Media Production and Communication Studies, the talks feature KU alumni, faculty, staff and students and is a great way to showcase the talent that is part of the KU experience.
Additional support is provided by the Association of Campus Events, College of Visual and Performing Arts (Dean's Office), KU Foundation, KU Multicultural Center and KU Student Organizations, PERFORUM and Spotlight.
Spring 2023 Tower Talks
Wed. April 26, 2023 - 7:30 p.m. - Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research
Kutztown University’s Department of Cinema, Television and Media Production will host its third Tower Talks, a speaker event on campus, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research. Featured speakers include Dr. A.J. Merlino ’10, Grammy-nominated music educator, and Dr. Willis Rapp, arranger, composer, author and KU faculty emeriti. The event features KU alumni, faculty, staff and students and brings together the community to inspire all who attend.
Fall 2022 Tower Talks

J.R. Aquila '82
J.R. will speak about his time as a student at KU (class of 1982) and his time after graduation working towards his goal of producing live events. He is now Sr. Event Producer/Director for NBC Sports Philadelphia where he produces Philadelphia 76ers, Phillies and Flyers games. Come hear his inspirational story and advice on his success!
Cody Hawley '23
Cody Hawley, a senior at Kutztown University, majoring in Cinema, Television and Media Production will speak about his experiences here at KU. He has his own entertainment brand entitled "The Cody Network," and is also the director of award-winning comedy films that have received accolades throughout the northeast and abroad. KU has become a great home for Cody, as it has provided opportunities for him to pursue his goals and dreams further. Come hear his motivational talk on moving forward with is goals!
