Kutztown University Radio
The Radio Voice of Kutztown University
Hi everyone! We're excited to welcome you to KUR, where you can grow your skills as a broadcaster and gain firsthand experience in the radio world!
Here at KUR, our primary goal is to provide college students with the opportunity to have their voices heard, not just on campus, but around the world. Whether you are interested in music, news, or sports coverage, KUR gives you the chance to speak whatever is on your mind. If you have no experience, there's no need to panic. Members of the e-board staff will teach you and help you get your ideas on air. At KUR, you're not just part of a station. You're part of something bigger, where we can let your voice shine!
Don't know how to listen to KUR?

Wanna join KUR?
We'd love to have you!
If you are a KU student, faculty, or staff, you can join KUR and be trained to have your own radio show or help behind-the-scenes in the exciting world of radio! Zero experience is required! We will train you!
Meetings & training happen every fall and spring semester! In spring 2026, meetings are every Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Sharadin Art Building 120 from January 27 through May 5. Tuesday at 11 a.m. is one of KU's campus "free hours" which means this will not conflict with any of your classes. Just show up! It is never too late to join. Even if you miss training early in the semester, we can arrange a make-up for you any time of the year.
*Note: Our meeting location is not the location of the radio station. We sign out a large meeting room for our meetings because our radio station is not big enough to hold meetings. For your reference, the radio station is in MSU 188.
Any questions? Just e-mail our advisor here. Otherwise, we'll see you at our meetings!
Some testimonials from former KUR members who shared how their journey at KUR helped them finish their college journey:

"KUR was an immersive and professional experience that I am extremely grateful for having been a small part of. The ability to interview people from all over the area opened my eyes to different walks of life. The small-knit community that formed around the radio and everyone’s topics was an exciting environment to be around. KUR’s impact on my life professionally and personally allowed me to thrive in my current role in Atlanta, GA. There is a reason why KUR wins awards for being one of the best college radio stations in the country. That culture was fostered and guided by Mike Regensburger who continues to look out for KUR students."
- George Fladeland (KU/KUR alum)

"Overall, I had a great time at Kutztown University, and am a proud alum! One of the extracurricular highlights of my time at Kutztown was being a part of Kutztown University Radio. A big part of my success at KUR was advisor/director Mike Regensburger. Aside from being a great guy and someone who was easy to work with, Mike was a great mentor. He took the time to get to know everyone involved with the station, and taught us everything we needed to know to run successful shows. I really enjoyed the freedom and creative direction we were allowed to take. That, combined with Mike’s expertise, made all the difference and made the club and our shows great. Another unique thing about KUR is that we have an extensive alumni base with people who live all over the United States and the world. Mike does a great job of not only maintaining an award-winning radio station with the current students, but also staying connected with the alumni and keeping us connected through online engagement and in-person reunions. I think this is a very positive thing for Kutztown University because it keeps alumni involved. It is also a very positive thing for Kutztown University because it shows prospective students that KU has wonderful and unique clubs like KUR, something that not all universities have."

"If it weren't for KUR and the people I met while I was a member, I'd have dropped out HARD sophomore year. Met my wife, and a bunch of best friends via KUR connections."

Public File
As a part-15 station (see F.A.Q.'s for details), KUR is not required to maintain a public file. Wanting to operate as closely to a non-part-15 station as possible, however, we gladly maintain one. A radio station public file details what said radio station airs and does in the community interest, along with public input. You can access ours by clicking here.
