Matt Assad
Interim VP for Administration & Finance
and Chief Financial Officer
As Interim Vice President for Administration & Finance at Kutztown University, Matthew Assad provides strategic leadership for the institution’s financial and administrative units. He oversees the university’s budget and financial operations, human resources, equity and compliance, and facilities.
Matt joined Kutztown University in 2020 as Assistant Controller and was quickly promoted to Controller that same year, serving in that role for four years. In 2024, he advanced to Executive Director of Finance, where he guided the university’s financial strategy and operations. In 2025, he was appointed Interim Vice President and CFO, where he now leads university-wide initiatives that strengthen KU’s financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and collaborative culture.
Prior to his tenure at KU, Matt spent five years with Kutztown University Student Services, Inc. (KUSSI), where he served as Associate Executive Director and Controller. In that role, he managed financial operations, supported student organizations, and advanced the fiscal health of programs that directly benefit KU’s student body.
Matt is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He received his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Kutztown University.
