Leadership

As Interim Vice President of Administration and Finance, Matt Assad is responsible for leading Kutztown University's financial units. He oversees the university's accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, procurement, business services, and risk management. Matt has been with KU since 2020. He began as Assistant Controller, was promoted to Controller in the same year, and served in that position for four years. He was named Executive Director of Finance in January 2025 and Interim Vice President of Administration and Finance in January 2026. 

Prior to joining KU, Matt spent five years with Kutztown University Student Services, Inc., where he served as their Associate Executive Director and Controller. Matt is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He received his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Kutztown University.
