Practicum/Internship

The Kutztown University Counseling Center is proud to offer both internship and practicum experiences for masters-level graduate students. These experiences will provide future counselors with training and experience providing counseling services for students in a university setting. The Kutztown University Counseling Center is staffed with licensed professional counselors that can provide supervision and training to masters-level students.

The practicum experience is a one semester commitment and is offered in the spring semester. This opportunity is open to students currently enrolled in a practicum course and will provide a placement to complete the 100-hour requirement. Weekly supervision will be provided by an experienced clinician. Upon successful completion of practicum, students are welcome to apply for our internship opportunity.

The internship experience is a two semester (fall and spring) opportunity offered to students in their final year of graduate school. We accept master's level applicants from any accredited graduate counseling program, but preferential consideration will be given to students enrolled in Kutztown University's counseling program. Interns will get experience providing individual and group counseling, psychoeducation programs, outreach events, and crisis management training and experience. Counseling interns will participate in group supervision and individual supervision on a weekly basis and will build their skills as a counselor.
