    DESCRIPTION: Alleged hazing and alcohol violations: humiliating behavior including "swimming" on dirty floors with dirty water; required to walk like dogs, alcohol consumption/competitions.

    FINDINGS: Hazing: responsible; alcohol charges: unsubstantiated

    SANCTIONS: Deferred suspension through Spring 2022 and mandatory hazing training.

  • Kutztown University’s Hazing Policy is published in The Key student handbook. In addition, a copy of the policy and additional information about hazing resources is available at the Hazing Information website.
  • To report a hazing incident, please refer to the Hazing Report Form.
  • The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), as amended by the Stop Campus Hazing Act (PL 118-73), requires institutions to biannually publish a Campus Hazing Transparency Report summarizing findings concerning any recognized student organizations found to violate the institution's standard of conduct relating to hazing over a five (5) year period.
  • Pennsylvania’s Timothy J. Piazza Anti-Hazing Law (18 Pa. C.S. §§ 2808-2809) also requires universities to publish a biannual report of all violations of the institution’s antihazing policy or Federal or State laws related to hazing reported to the institution over a five (5) year period.
  • Consistent with the Clery Act, separate hazing crime statistics reported to the institution are counted in the campus’s Annual Security Report (ASR) published on the university’s website effective with the 2025 ASR (October 1, 2026). Please note that varying parameters and reporting requirements will result in different statistics with hazing crimes counted in the ASR compared to violations listed in the Campus Hazing Transparency Report/Biannual Hazing Report.
