This information is updated regularly to reflect an organization's current standing on campus. Students are encouraged to research groups before joining or affiliating with a group to ensure it is in good standing and permitted to operate as an official student organization at KU. Student Organizations on Disciplinary Probation or Deferred Suspension
The following are student organizations that are not in good standing with the university after having been found responsible for violations of University policy. Violations of the terms of Disciplinary Probation and/or Deferred Suspension may result in further action by the university, up to and including deferred suspension, suspension of recognition, and revocation (loss) of recognition.

Student Organization Sanction Definitions
Disciplinary Probation: A serious form of reprimand issued for a specified period of time not to exceed two (2) years which indicates to a student organization that future violations of university regulations will result in deferred suspension, suspension or loss of recognition. Under this sanction, the hearing authority may further limit the student organization as deemed appropriate.
Deferred Suspension: The most serious level of disciplinary sanction short of the loss of recognition for a student organization issued for a specified period of time not to exceed two (2) years. The student organization’s continued status on campus depends upon the successful maintenance of satisfactory behavior and the completion of other required sanctions as applicable. Deferred suspension may include denial of campus privileges as specified by the reviewing authority.

Suspended Student Organizations
The following are non-recognized groups that no longer have a relationship with Kutztown University and are not subject to oversight by the University. These organizations incurred risk management violations and/or have failed to comply with University policies and processes applicable to Registered Student Organizations. In most cases involving fraternities or sororities, organizations have also had the charter suspended or revoked by their inter/national headquarters because of these risk management violations. In other cases, a group may still be chartered and continue to operate without the recognition of Kutztown University.
Students and Registered Student Organizations should avoid joining or participating in events or activities with any of the groups listed below. Registered Student Organizations actively sponsoring, co-sponsoring, or participating with suspended non-recognized organizations may violate university policy and are subject to disciplinary action. The University advises that students and their parents review carefully the potential risks of affiliating with groups that have violated and been found responsible for Student Code of Conduct violations.

Student Organization Sanction Definitions
Suspension of Recognition: University recognition of a student organization is suspended upon the approval of the Associate Dean of Students for a specified length of time not exceeding four (4) years. During this period of time, the organization will cease to function at the university and is denied all benefits of university recognition including but not limited to new member recruitment, use of campus facilities, participation in university events, sponsorship of activities, and funding.
Revocation (Loss) of Recognition: University recognition status of the student organization is indefinitely revoked upon the approval of the Associate Dean of Students. During this period of time, the organization will cease to function at the university and is denied all benefits of university recognition including but not limited to new member recruitment, use of campus facilities, participation in university events, sponsorship of activities, and funding. The student organization may petition the university through the Dean of Students or designee for reinstatement after seven (7) years from the date recognition was lost.
