Transcript Requirements

Official transcripts will be required for admission. Official transcripts can be emailed to international@kutztown.edu by an employee at your high school or institution, or can be mailed to the Office of International Education and Global Engagement. 

Copies of official transcripts provided to Kutztown University by students directly will be considered unofficial. No loose paper or digital transcripts provided directly to Kutztown University by a student can be considered official.

    All the credentials below must come with your final secondary school transcript and leaving exam scores if applicable. For students applying while still in high school, your final transcript can be brought physically to campus at the start of your first term in a sealed envelope provided by your institution. The original seal cannot be broken on any materials provided in person. Also, please be sure to submit copies of all qualifying exams taken throughout secondary school (for example: IGCSE final certificates, Class 10 Secondary School Examination Certificates for India, etc.) as these are also necessary to complete your application.

    International Schools

    • Requirement if still in High School:Most recent 3 years of consecutive education
    • Requirement if High School Completed: The international school must be accredited by your country’s Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Education of the country upon which your educational system is based, or have U.S. regional accreditation. You also must earn a certificate of completion that will allow you to enter a university in the country upon which your educational system is based. For example, if your international school follows a U.S. curriculum, your school must have U.S. regional accreditation and you must graduate with a U.S. high school diploma.

    International Schools

  • POST-SECONDARY TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS

    THIS SECTION IS FOR THOSE WHO HOLD UNIVERSITY-LEVEL CREDIT. IF YOU ARE COMING TO KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY AS AN UNDERGRADUATE TRANSFER OR GRADUATE APPLICANT.

    Note: Official college and university transcripts/academic records are required from all universities you attended.

    Undergraduate Admissions Determination: All transfer undergraduate applicants should submit an official copy of their transcripts/credentials in both the original language and in English to have an in-house evaluation done by Kutztown University staff. This evaluation will establish your degree’s US equivalency and calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA) which will determine your admissibility. A transcript/credential evaluation will be required to transfer credit to Kutztown University.

    You will also still be required to submit an official final secondary school certificate unless you meet one of the following requirements:

    • You have earned the equivalent of a U.S. associate's degree or;
    • You have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's or higher degree or;
    • You have earned 30 or more post-secondary semester credits (or 45 quarter credits).

    Graduate Admissions Determination: All graduate applicants are required to submit an official copy of their transcripts/credentials to be evaluated by a NACES recognized company.  

    Transcript/Credential Evaluations: Courses on college and university transcripts/academic records from non-U.S. institutions must be evaluated by a NACES recognized company to determine U.S. course/credit equivalencies for transfer undergraduate credit and admissability for graduate students. Applicants must pay for their own evaluations and must provide a course-by-course type evaluation. Completed evaluations should be sent to international@kutztown.edu directly by the evaluation company. 

  • CERTIFIED TRANSLATION SERVICES

    Translations should come from your high school/university, academic advisor, Education USA advisor, or an ATA-certified translator. Both the original language materials and English language translations are required for application review to ensure any decision issued is an accurate reflection of your earned coursework.

    Many National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) credential evaluation companies also provide translation services at an affordable cost.
