International Student Scholarships and Awards
The following award information is effective for students admitted in Academic Year 2025-2026. Click the button below to request a personal scholarship/award estimate based on your information.

Out-of-State/International Tuition Reduction (~$7,000 per year)
Out-of-State/International Tuition Reduction: Non-Pennsylvania residents including out-of-state and international undergraduate students are automatically given a tuition discount at the time of admission that is approximatey $7,000 per year. This discount in tuition costs is estimated, and the amount updates every year. Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and maintain full-time student status.
Financial Note: Students earning a second bachelor's degree are not eligible for the Out-of-State/International Tuition Reduction, academic scholarships, and needs-based awards.

Transfer Merit Scholarship ($1,000 - $3,000 per year)

Award Award Eligibility Housing $1,000 - Student must live on campus.

Book $500 - This is a one-time award.
- To be utilized in the KU Campus Book Store.
To be Eligible: Incoming transfer students must have an associate’s degree
UnderGRaduate Needs-Based awards
These awards are provided as a waiver or a reduction in the amount of tuition you are charged rather than money that is provided to your account directly. Students must apply to be considered.

International Avalanche Award (Estimated $2,000-$4,000 per year)

$8,000 A limited number of awards are available to new international undergraduate students and are offered on a rolling basis until all funds are given.
- Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Students must maintain full-time student status and earn 24 credits in a year
- Students must complete 5 volunteer hours for the International Office each academic year.
How to Apply:
- Apply to Kutztown University and receive an acceptance letter.
- Complete the International Avalanche Award - Scholarship Application.
- Applications will be reviewed between January and May (Fall entry term) and between October and December (Spring entry term).
- The deadline to apply is May 1st (Fall entry term) and December 1st (Spring entry term).
How to Accept the Award: Awarded students must pay their $300 Registration Deposit by May 1st (Fall entry term) and December 1st (Spring entry term) or the student forfeits the award.

Graduate Assistantships ($14,288 - $21,432 per year)

How to Apply:
- Apply to Kutztown University and receive an acceptance letter.
- Confirm your offer of acceptance.
- Apply to available positions listed on the Graduate Studies website.
- Interested offices and departments will contact you about the position or to interview you. Each office and department have their own method and timeline for reviewing applications.
- Once you receive a Graduate Assistantship offer, you will sign a contract for the position which you can use as Evidence of Financial Support for a visa.

Kutztown University Foundation Scholarships
To be considered for Kutztown University Foundation Scholarships, current and incoming students should complete a scholarship profile each year between November 1st and March 15th to be considered for available scholarships.
- These scholarships may have criteria specific to a student's major, GPA, or other factors. Scholarships are awarded based on the guidelines provided by the donors.
- Students who receive these scholarships will have to write a thank you letter to the donor of the scholarship.

Working on Campus (Estimated $2,000 - $5,000 per year)
International students may work on campus up to 20 hours a week while enrolled in a fall or spring term and up to 40 hours a week during the winter break, spring break, and summer break. This provides the potential to earn between $2,000 - $5,000 annually depending on your hourly pay rate, position, the number of hours you work, and if you work over breaks. Off campus paid internships can also provide additional funds.

Payment Plans
Payment plans are available to students who want to pay their bills in multiple installments over several months, and these plans are offered only for the fall and spring semesters. Payment plans are not required. They require a $35 enrollment fee for each term you want to sign up for a plan. More information on payment plans can be found here.
