Payment Plans

Kutztown University is pleased to offer payment plans to help make paying for college easier and more affordable.

The Payment Dashboard is where students & parents (if the student creates access for them) will make payments, purchase Bear Bucks & Flex Dollars, pay parking tickets, view bills, set up and pay payment plans, save payment methods, elect text message notifications and more!

Access to the Payment Dashboard
  • Students log into MyKU > KU Financial Account tile > Payment Dashboard
  • Parents must be created by the student who will assign them a Username and have an email sent to them to finalize access.  Parents access the Payment Dashboard here after they are set up by the student.

This page is maroon and has boxes for various financial activity options.

  • Making payments - use Click Here to Make a Payment link to purchase Bear Bucks, Flex Dollars, pay parking tickets and prepay.  The Pay link is helpful when just paying the bill or paying the payment plan.

Payment Plan Facts:

  1. Each plan costs $35; this is due at sign up with the first payment.
  2. The number of payments in your plan will depend on when you sign up - the sooner you sign up the more payments you will have.
  3. Parents can have their own access if the student creates it for them!  The student logs into MyKU > KU Financial Account tile > Payment Dashboard and in the lower-left box, Parent PIN, the student creates a username for them where the parent can then log in on their own and even get emails and texts when bills are ready!
  4. You can set up automatic payments so you are never late.
  5. You can save payment methods for future use in the Payment Plan Dashboard only.
  6. You can sign up for Text Messaging alerts regarding the payment plan payments only.
  7. Your payment plan payments will post right into MyKU and decrease your balance right away!
  8. No fee to adjust or cancel your payment plan up or down based on actual costs or changes in aid/bill.
  9. Late Fee on the Plan Dashboard is $10, Late Fee on MyKU is $50.  Please pay on time.
  10. Payment Plans are not canceled if you no longer owe money - you must do this if you no longer want, or need the plan.

    • Spring 2020 Payment Plan Dates - OPEN NOW

      The Spring 2020 plan opens October 1, 2019, with last signup option occurring January 20, 2020 (3 payments)

      • Due Dates are as many as 6 payments; 10/20, 11/20, 12/20, 1/20/2020, 2/20, 3/20
        • If you sign up Oct 1 to Oct 20 - you will automatically get set up in the 6 payment plan;
          • First payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 11/20, 12/20, 1/20, 2/20 and 3/20.
        • If you sign up Oct 21 to Nov 20 - you will automatically get set up in the 5 payment plan;
          • First payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 12/20, 1/20, 2/20 and 3/20.
        • If you sign up Nov 21 to Dec 20 - you will automatically get set up in the 4 payment plan;
          • First payment due at sign up with the enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 1/20, 2/20 and 3/20.
        • If you sign up Dec 21 to Jan 20- you will automatically get set up in the 3 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with the enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 2/20 and 3/20.

    • Winter 2020 Payment Plan Dates - OPEN NOW!

      The Winter 2020 plan opens October 15, 2019, with the last signup option occurring December 20, 2019 (2 payments).

      • Due Dates are as many as 3 payments; 11/24, 12/20, 1/14/2020
        • If you sign up Oct 15 to Nov 24 - you will automatically get set up in the 3 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 12/20 and 1/14/2020.
        • If you sign up Nov 25 to Dec 20 - you will automatically get set up in the 2 payment plan;
          • First payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due date is 1/14/2020.

    • Summer 2019 - CLOSED

      The Summer plan opens March 1, 2019 (or shortly after) with last signup option occurring May 31, 2019 (2 payments)

      • Due Dates are as many as 4 payments; 4/1, 5/1, 6/1 and 7/1
        • If you sign up Mar 1 to Apr 1 - you will automatically get set up in the 4 payment plan;
          • First payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 5/1, 6/1 and 7/1,
        • If you sign up Apr 2 to May 1 - you will automatically get set up in the 3 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 6/1 and 7/1.
        • If you sign up May 2 to May 31 - you will automatically get set up in the 2 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates is 7/1.
    • Summer 2019 Session 2 - CLOSED

      This plan will only help you if your due date is June 1 or after, if your charges are due before this plan opens, your courses would be dropped if not paid.

      • The plan opens June 1, 2019, with last signup option occurring July 10, 2019 (2 payments)
      • Due Dates are as many as 3 payments; 7/1, 7/22 and 8/9
        • If you sign up Jun 1 to July 1 - you will automatically get set up in the 3 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 7/22 and 8/9,
        • If you sign up July 2 to July 10 - you will automatically get set up in the 2 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due date is 8/9.

    • Fall 2019 Payment Plan Dates - CLOSED

      The Fall 2019 plan opens April 30, 2019, with last signup option occurring August 20, 2019 (2 payments)

      • Due Dates are as many as 6 payments; 5/15, 6/15, 7/15, 8/20, 9/20 and 10/20
        • If you sign up Apr 30 to May 15 - you will automatically get set up in the 6 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 6/15, 7/15, 8/20, 9/20 and 10/20.
        • If you sign up May 16 to Jun 15 - you will automatically get set up in the 5 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 7/15, 8/20, 9/20 and 10/20.
        • If you sign up Jun 16 to July 15 - you will automatically get set up in the 4 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with the enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 8/20, 9/20 and 10/20.
        • If you sign up July 16 to Aug 20- you will automatically get set up in the 3 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with the enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 9/20 and 10/20.

    • Fall 2019 Late Orientation ONLY - CLOSED

      Offered to students who participate in late orientation or late registration this plan will open August 21st.

      • Late registration plan opens August 21, 2019, with last signup option occurring September 27, 2019 (2 payments)
        • If you sign up Aug 21 to Sept 6 - you will automatically get set up in the 3 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with the enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates are 9/27 and 10/20.
        • If you sign up Sept 7 to Sept 27- you will automatically get set up in the 2 payment plan;
          • The first payment due at sign up with the enrollment fee and remaining payment due dates is 10/20.
    Payment Plan commonly asked questions

      • Are payment plans for the full academic year or by semester?

        Payment Plans are set up by the semester.

      • How much should I set my payment plan up for?

        If you are setting your payment plan up before the tuition rates are known or before the bill is prepared, you will need to review the costs online and subtract your awarded/pending aid.  Awarded aid is for the full academic year, so this should be cut in half.  Some loans have origination fees (Stafford loans of 1.06%, Parent PLUS loans of 4.2% and NJ Class loans of 3%), this means that these fees are withheld by the provider/lender prior to release to KU.  A Stafford loan of 2,750.00 would disburse to KU as 2,722.00.

      • When and how will my balance change in MyKU from setting up a payment plan?

        Your balance in MyKU will be reduced by the payment plan payment you have made to the payment plan site excluding the payment plan fee retained by the plan provider.  This payment posts right into MyKU as a payment plan payment. Only the payments made will appear to reduce your balance due.

        The rest of the plan that you have not yet paid, is noted in the Positive Indicator area located on MyKU with Holds and To Do's. The note and what it does will vary if the plan is enough to cover the bill or not.

        If the plan is enough to cover the bill with the aid you have pending, then you will see a Classes Safe notation for the semester or session.  This will secure your class schedule.

        If the plan is not enough to cover the bill with the aid you have pending, then you will see a Pending Funds notation for the semester or session.  This will not secure a schedule, it is just a note on the account.

      • How will I know my Classes are safe from setting up my payment plan?

        Classes are safe when you see a Classes Safe notation for the particular semester or session under Positive Indicators on MyKU. This is located with the Holds and To Do's.

      • Is there a payment plan for International Students?

        International students have several ways to make payments and the options are dependent on the method you are using.

        US funding sources - bank account or credit card allows you to use the payment plan just the same as our domestic students.

        Foreign credit cards - you may use the payment plan just the same as our domestic students, but the processing fee for a foreign credit card is higher.

        Foreign currency - currently the only way to pay with foreign currency is in full using our partner Flywire.  Shortly the payment plan which our domestic students use will have the Flywire payment option added.  We are excited about this option being added to our payment plans. Click here for more information about Flywire.

      • Adjusting a Plan Budget Amount - increasing or decreasing a plan at no extra fee.
        • Canceling a plan - adjust the plan budget amount to what you have paid thus far, no fee to cancel a plan if its no longer needed.
      • Making Additional Payments on plans - you can make additional payments without any fee or penalty.
