Kutztown University (the “University”) does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.

The University does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with the ADA Title I employment regulations.

The University will, upon request, provide auxiliary aids and services that lead to effective communication for people with disabilities, including qualified sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices, documents in Braille, and other ways to make communication accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.

The University will make reasonable modifications to policies and procedures to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy programs, services, and activities. For example, people with service animals are welcomed in offices, even where pets and other animals are prohibited.

To request an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication or a modification of policies or procedures, contact Bradley A. Davis, Esquire, ADA Coordinator, via email at compliance@kutztown.edu as soon as possible, preferably 14 days before the activity or event.

Complaints alleging failure to implement approved accommodations or other violation(s) of the ADA should be filed with the ADA Coordinator.

        • ADA Accessibility Grievance Procedures

This grievance procedure is established to meet the requirements of the ADA. It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits by Kutztown University (the “University”).

The complaint should be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination, such as the name, address, phone number, and email address of the complainant, and the location, date, and description of the problem. Alternative means of filing complaints, such as personal interviews or a tape recording of the complaint will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request.

The complaint should be submitted as soon as possible, preferably within 60 calendar days of the alleged violation, to Bradley A. Davis, Esquire, ADA Coordinator, via email at compliance@kutztown.edu or by utilizing the online Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Reporting Form. Parking
Visitors needing accessible parking may use any designated campus parking space with a properly displayed state-issued plate or placard from any state.

          Commencement
If you are attending a KU graduation ceremony and you need to make accessible seating arrangements, you must contact commencement@kutztown.edu or call 610-683-4834 to make arrangements for that day.

Parking for commencement closest to the O'Pake Field House (lot E-1 & lot E-2) is reserved for patrons with state-issued handicap plates or placards. While there are other lots reasonably close to the facility, individuals with mobility issues should plan to arrive early, as these spaces are very limited. Alternatively, a drop-off area will be available near the venue for families who wish to drop off patrons with mobility issues. Both of these areas are accessible from Baldy Street. A state-issued handicap placard does not guarantee parking for guests in our reserved parking areas.

          Wheelchair Accessibility
Events open to the public are regularly scheduled in wheelchair-accessible locations. If you wish to attend a specific event and want to confirm accessibility, please contact the individual or department sponsoring the event, or the Disability Services Office at DSO@kutztown.edu.

Please note: Kutztown University does not provide wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

          Sign Language Interpreters or Captioning
Requests for sign language interpreters or real-time captioning must be made at least two weeks in advance. Please contact the individual or department sponsoring the event, or the Disability Services Office at DSO@kutztown.edu.

          Print Materials
If you need print materials in large print or digital format, please contact the individual or department sponsoring the event at least two weeks in advance. Every effort will be made to provide the requests.
