Disability Services Office (DSO)
Welcome to the Disability Services Office (DSO).
The Disability Services Office, located in room 215 of the Stratton Administration Center, assists the university in providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities who are members of the university community (students and employees) and who utilize the university facilities (guests and visitors).
Announcements and Special Events:
- Accommodation Letters
Students registered with the DSO who have been approved for academic accommodations can send their Summer 2023 accommodation letters to course professors starting Wednesday, May 24th. If you send a copy to yourself, the email subject line will indicate that you are receiving an accommodation letter and will list the corresponding course number. Please save a copy of these emails for your records. Visit this page for more information about implementing your accommodations.
Implementing your academic accommodations is a very important 2-Step process that must be completed as early in the summer semester as possible to ensure that your accommodations are in place when you need them. Please contact the DSO at 610-683-4108 or DSO@kutztown.edu if you have any questions or concerns. We hope you have a wonderful summer! - DSO Info Session: Sending & Implementing Accommodations
Learn more about sending and implementing your approved accommodations with the Disability Services Office (DSO). To schedule an information session, please email DSO@kutztown.edu. - Prospective Student Info Sessions
Prospective students and families are invited to participate in a virtual Disability Services Info Session. Participants will learn about services and facilities, the process for requesting accommodations, and tips for preparing for a successful transition to college. To schedule a session, please contact the DSO at DSO@kutztown.edu or call the office at 610-683-4108.
Information for Incoming Students:
The staff in the Disability Services Office is excited to meet any incoming students at Accepted Student Day events and both freshman and transfer student orientations! While we are happy to answer any questions regarding accommodations and check on the status of your request through our office, we will not be accepting documentation at these events. The Disability Services Office is open during these times (except during Saturday events) and we would be happy to take your documentation in the office when you are on campus. If you know that you will be on campus for an event and would like to schedule a meeting with our office for that day, please send us an email and we would be happy to see you if our schedules allow.
Once you have paid your Advanced Registration Deposit (ARD) and receive log-in information for your KU email account, you will be able to submit documentation to begin the process of requesting accommodations through our office! Please visit the Student Accommodations page for more information and to submit an Accommodation Request Form or supporting documentation.
