The Multicultural Center is located on South Campus along the DMZ. It is behind Rothermel Hall next to Schuylkill Hall. You can access it by vehicle via South Campus Drive.

Center Hours:

8:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Monday through Thursday)

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Friday)

Summer Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday)

Multicultural Center Staff:

Director, Ms. Rhonda Branford: The Director of Multicultural Student Services is responsible for the overall administration of Multicultural Services with a focus on enhancing the multicultural experience of the campus community. Her administrative functions include budget management, program authorization, supervision, policy-making, and hiring. She sees students by appointment and/or walk-ins. She also facilitates classroom presentations, upon request.

Operations Manager and Receptionist, Faith Riedel: The Operations Manager and Receptionist oversees the room reservation process, schedules and technical setups for programs sponsored by the department and other campus organizations and departments. She supervises student workers and assists with the training of workers. She also processes all paperwork associated with expenses for programs, office supplies, travel, etc., which include processing travel forms, placing orders and processing purchase requisitions. She maintains the library at the center and updates the website as needed.

Graduate Assistants:

Although teamwork is essential for most projects and duties, the graduate assistants are assigned some distinct responsibilities.

Maria Aguiar - Coordinator for Granted Access Project (G.A.P.), Special Projects & Assessment. She specializes in college awareness and initiatives. Her main responsibilities are to plan and coordinate on-campus activities for the college prep/awareness program - GAP; she provides services to GAP participants on location at their schools. She also researches new initiatives, assessments, and assessment tools, special projects (Women Who Inspire booklet). See the latest copy of "Women Who Inspire" under Publications.

Alicia Gregoire - FRESH Coordinator and Social Exchange Program Planner. She specializes in personal development. Her main responsibilities are to further develop and implement programs primarily focused on first-year students by planning academic, social and personal development activities for them. She helps facilitate R.E.A.L. programs (see GA-Student Leadership) and plans our social exchange events. And, she also promotes all MCC events through social media, videos, and posters. 

Carmen Rodriguez- Coordinator for Student Leadership Development. She specializes in leadership development and works closely with student groups on organization skills and planning skills. Her main responsibilities are to lead and co-implement - R.E.A.L. Leadership Academy. She is responsible for planning and implementing the leadership retreat(s)/activities, such as the annual Ujima Conference, and facilitating the All Organization Executive meetings, as well as other programs. 

Student Workers play a significant role in the Multicultural Center and are valued members of the Center Team. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting staff and fellow students with utilizing the Center resources
  • Serving as primary staff during evening hours
  • Serving as guardians of the Center and its contents
