Programs

History is the study of past human experiences. Working with written, oral, visual information and artifacts, history majors examine the causes, context, and chronologies of major social, political, cultural, and economic events to understand how human experiences have changed over time.

Kutztown University's Department of History offers studies in a variety of historical fields to prepare students for the Bachelor of Arts degree, the Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a focus in History, and the Bachelor of Arts degree with a Paralegal Studies concentration.

The History degree with a Paralegal Studies concentration is approved by the American Bar Association and taught in conjunction with Lehigh Carbon Community College.

The Secondary Education program offers qualified graduates provisional certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Social Studies Education.
